Student Atlas lets you focus on one student profile at a time, to see their progress on standards and skills mastery across all their classes in which standards and difficulty level are tagged. (Note if no standards and difficulty levels are included in course or resource content, then there is no data included in student profiles for that content.)
Choosing a Class and Student
First, the dropdown menu in the upper left lets you choose a class. Then just to the right of that, you can choose a student in the class. Now you're looking at that student's individual profile data.
Student Learning Progress Summary
Under the student's name, you see a succinct summary of their stronger and weaker areas of learning progress across their classes.
Data for this Student
Under the summary, the Data Confidence section explains how confident we can be in our evaluation of the student's performance, based on how much data we have in each content or skill area.
The Last synced data in the top right allows you to force an update, to make sure you're looking at the most up-to-date data for the student.
And if you want to just look at a student's performance data on a particular assessment, you can choose Filter by Assessment.
3 Visualizations of the Data
In the top row we see three visualizations of the data on the student's skills progress. First, the Zones of Proximal Development (or ZPD) - a phrase coined by Vygotsky, an influential educational psychologist - shows three levels of skills that the student is working on mastering:
Emerging - skills that the student is in the beginning stages of mastering
Ready to Grow - skills the student has made progress on mastering
Secure - skills in which the student has demonstrated mastery
The 2nd chart, Skill Distribution, shows the same skills data as the ZPD chart, but in a pie chart format.
The 3rd chart, Tiered Support Distribution, displays the same skills data across Tiers 0-3 (from the MTSS / RTI intervention framework).
Tier 0 - Skills in which the student is performing strongly, needs no intervention
Tier 1 - Skills where no intervention is needed beyond core instruction
Tier 2 - Skills where the student might benefit from targeted intervention support
Tier 3 - Skills where intensive support is recommended to help the student attain mastery
Also try hovering your cursor over these 3 charts to display helpful info on the skill(s) and the student's scores on exercises or assessments where the skill(s) was evaluated!
Key Skills to Focus On
A little lower on the page, the Key skills to focus on section offers more information about skills that the student is developing or struggling with currently.
Clicking on any of these skills brings up a deep dive about the student's performance on the skill in a full side panel on the right.
You can also scroll to the right to see more of these priority skills.
Learning Data for All Domains, Standards, Skills
In the All Domains section, on the right you can Search by skills or standards, as well as Filter by mastery level, by whether the skills have been introduced or not, and by domain.
In the All Domains table, the hierarchy is Domain - Standards - Skills: clicking on a domain shows the standards in that domain, then another click reveals the associated skills. Then clicking on a skill will again bring up that right side panel showing student skill performance.

Clicking on this Recommended Actions button brings up a new right side panel, where the Kira AI will consider all this student's data, and make recommendations, in priority order, for instructional moves you can make next to take this student's learning to the next level.

Setting Accommodations for the Student
