(COMING SOON!)

Every student has an Accommodations entry, but it is "Not set" until a teacher adds data to it.

Adding Accommodations

As of 9/4/26, there are two types of accommodations that can be added for a student - Extended time and Modified answer choices.

No documentation is required for either of these, and once the teacher has set the accommodation, the Kira platform will ensure that the student gets their accommodations every time, in every place they are applicable, without the teacher having to think about it again.

Every teacher who has the student in a Class will be able to see the accommodations.

Extended Time

Extended time can be set at an additional 25%, 50%, 100%, or a custom amount of time, and this will be applied to every assessment assigned to the student across the platform.

Modified Answer Choices

If Modified answer choices is turned on, then on a typical multiple choice item with 4 or 5 answer choices, the student would have only 3 choices.

More Types of Accommodations

Further types of accommodations will be enabled in future iterations of this accommodations feature on the Kira platform!

Student Experience

Students receive their accommodations automatically and invisibly: they see only their extended time (never the original limit) and their reduced answer choices, with no indication that an accommodation is in place.
