Prerequisites:
Reach out the Kira Customer Support to get the tenantId number.
Have Schoology Admin permissions to create an Application
Creation of Application in App Center
Login into your Schoology account. You must have Admin permissions to create the application.
Go to the App Center.
Go to “My Developer Apps”
Click on “Add App”
Fill the form:
App name: Kira App
Description: This is the application from Schoology to Kira app.
Category: Others
Available for: All Schoology users
Type of App: LTI 1.3 App
Uncheck “Launch in Schoology App”
Can be installed for: “Standard User visibility”, we recommend Resources but you can add the app anywhere.
LTI Advantage Extensions: **Check “**Names and Roles Services”
Domain/URL: https://app.kira-learning.com
Custom Parameters: tenantId=<tenantProvided>
You can create the app first, and later come back to add the custom parameter when you have the tenantId
If you are using the self-service onboarding, the tool is going to give you the tenantId. You need to update the Application with that ID.
If a Kira representative is helping you with the onboarding, ask them for the tenantId
Reinstall the app if any config changes are made within the app
OIDC Login init URL: https://app.kira-learning.com/api/lti/login
Redirect URLs (two URLs separated by comma): https://app.kira-learning.com/api/schoology/callback,https://app.kira-learning.com/api/lti/launch
Check [ X ] This application meets the Schoology Terms of Use.
Submit the app, and this is going to generate an OAuth Consumer Key and OAuth Consumer Secret. These are the values you need to send to Kira.
Confirm with the Kira Engineering team has saved your client and secret keys in the DB.
If you are using the self-service tool, the application is going to give you the tenantId.
After that, you can install the App. Click on Install LTI 1.3 App.
Add it to your organization.
Then, on the App Center, click on Install app, and you can install to everyone or only for you.
After that, you will be able to see the Kira App in the Resources in the Apps section sub menu.
Any configuration changes require installing the application again. (Step 8)
