A Step-by-Step Guide to Using Single Sign-On and Linking Your Sections to Courses in Kira

Step 1: Sign In with Your School

After your school or district has set up integrations with Kira, if you are currently signed in to your account, log out, and then log back in. When you log in, click the "Continue with your school" button. This will take you to your school's LMS sign-in page. Log in using your LMS credentials, and you'll be redirected to Kira's platform. If you don't log in with your school, you won't be connected to the LMS, and your dashboard will appear empty. Important: Always use the "Continue with your school" option during login to ensure you are accessing your school-linked account. Logging in with email or Google may lead to the creation of a separate account that will not display your classes or students. To avoid this complication, make sure to follow the correct login process.

Troubleshooting Login Visibility Issues

If you’ve accidentally logged in using Google or email and cannot view your classes or students:

  1. Log out of the incorrect account.

  2. Navigate back to the Kira Learning login page and select the Continue with your school option.

  3. Complete the login using your school SSO credentials. If the issue persists, contact Kira Learning Support for further assistance.

Step 2: View and Select Sections

After signing in, you'll need to link your sections. After you select your sections, you will need to assign a course to each.

Step 3: Assign Sections to Courses

Manually assign each section to the desired course. Once you’ve selected the appropriate course for each section, click the "Connect sections to courses" button.

You will be redirected back to your dashboard, where your sections will be updated with the corresponding courses. If you have any unlinked sections, you can access them at any time and link them to your desired course.

Step 4: Preview your Roster

To verify that your roster has been successfully synced from your LMS, hover your cursor over the newly created section and click on the three stacked dots (also known as the "more options" menu) that appear. From the drop-down menu, select "Roster." This will display the list of students who have been populated in that section, allowing you to confirm that the sync was successful.
