Creating lessons
With Kira’s Lesson Studio, you can build lessons in three ways:
Choosing learning standards
Pasting notes, a lesson plan, or an AI prompt
Importing files like docs, slide decks, websites
Once you’ve selected one of the above options you’ll be asked to provide more information, like selecting the standard(s) you wish to cover, or the file(s) you wish to upload. You’ll then be presented with a lesson outline.
You an make any changes, like re-ordering steps, changing the length of the steps, or changing the content that will be generated. Then click Generate to build your lesson.
It’ll take a few minutes for the lesson to generate. Once it’s built, you can ask Kira AI to make any adjustments, as needed. You can also manually edit lessons by going to the step and clicking into the portion you’d like to change.
Publishing and Assigning content
Here's a quick walkthrough of the toolbar at the top of the Lesson Studio:
After the lesson is finished generating and you’re satisfied with each step, click the Publish button. Then, click Assign to to assign the lesson to your students.
You can assign a lesson to a class (multiple sections of the same subject matter), one or more sections, or one or more individual students.
Finally, you can set a lesson title, a due date, and adjust settings like if the AI tutor is enabled for students. When you’re all set, click Assign.
Grading content
Once at least one student has started the lesson, you can start grading student work. Head to the Library tab, then find the lesson you wish to grade, and click it.
Then, click the Grade button at the top.
In the Grader, you can go through each student’s work. You can see which activities they have Submitted on the left-hand side, and their answers on the right-hand side.
💡 Kira Tip: To save time, you can also click the Grade All With AI in the top right. This will grade each students’ work and provide feedback on their answers! We always recommend double-checking the AI’s responses to ensure quality and accuracy.
After you’ve reviewed their work, you can click Release Grades on the bottom left to finish their grading and send them their score.
