How to Use the AI Teacher Assistant

The AI Teacher Assistant is a powerful tool that helps teachers monitor and support student work in real time during coding activities. It allows educators to track progress, provide personalized, AI-driven support, and overcome challenges like limited CS knowledge or ineffective strategies. Step 1: Access the Student Support Tab

  1. Log into your teacher dashboard, select a section, and open up a coding step 
  2. Navigate to the Student Support tab to view your class progress and live student work
  3. Click on the student's name or "..." menu to view the student's live work 

Step 2: Identify Students Who Need Help

  • Look for indicators of students who are stuck or falling behind
  • Select a student to open their work view

Step 3: Use AI Guidance

  1. Click on the Support button next to a student’s name
  2. The AI Assistant will provide:
    • Questions to ask the student to guide their learning
    • A suggested code solution to help resolve the issue

Step 4: Follow-Up Questions

  • You can ask follow-up questions based on the guidance provided
  • Use the custom question feature if you want to ask something specific while keeping the guidance visible
