Generating Course Information
It just takes two clicks to create the course information!
In a teacher's library, in a course, just to the right of the Table of Contents header, as shown above, is a button to view or create course information. Clicking on that button brings up a dialog box. If the course information has not already been created, it will look like the below:
After you click on Generate, the AI will churn for a minute or so, and then notify you in the bottom right of the screen when the course information is ready.
Now when you click on that button in the upper left, it will display the Course Information in the left sidebar, as shown below:
Revising Course Information
Teachers can revise the course info in the left sidebar with two approaches:
Edit allows the teacher to make inline manual revisions.
Regenerate prompts the Kira AI to generate the course info again, in the case where course content had changed, and the existing course info had become outdated. (Note that regenerating overwrites any manual edits to the course info that the teacher had made!)
Teacher Export so Students Can View
Students can only see the course information if the teacher exports it for their viewing. If the teacher does export it for them, students are able to see, in read-only mode, the course outline/overview, unit descriptions, learning targets, standards, and a resource list, with expand/collapse and resource navigation.
Here is how teachers can do this export, similar to the process for exporting a lesson.
In the course at the top left of the page, click on the down arrow then choose Export.
Then in the large dialog box that appears, in the upper right choose Course Information. There are other options there for you as well, including how to Save and share it with students:
