This article walks through what's new on your homepage, how Kira AI Chat fits in, and how the new layout helps you get to your next action faster.
A homepage built around what you need next
The new homepage splits into two panels: actionable content on the left, and Kira AI Chat on the right. The idea is simple — the moment you land on your homepage, you should immediately see what needs doing and have a fast way to get help doing it.
Kira AI Chat, front and center
Kira AI Chat now takes the primary spot on the right side of your homepage, with a few upgrades that make it easier to jump straight into creating and getting help:
Personalized prompt presets — suggested starting points that refresh every time you load the page and adapt based on the tools you actually use, so you're never staring at a blank chat box wondering where to start.
Tools menu — quick access to Kira's AI tools right from the chat panel, without digging through menus.
Expand to fullscreen — give yourself more room to work when you're deep in a longer conversation or building something more involved.
Clear conversation — start fresh whenever you want, with one click.
What's on the left panel
Grading Queue
Assignments that need your attention now surface directly on your homepage, complete with submission counts and overdue badges. No more digging through classes one by one to find what's waiting on you — you can jump straight into grading from here.
Recent Activity
Your recently viewed resources appear with timestamps and type tags, so picking up right where you left off takes one click instead of a search.
Discover Resources
A Discover Resources drawer sits at the bottom of the homepage and expands with a tap or drag. If you're new to Kira, you'll see an “All” filter to explore everything available. If you're a returning teacher, you'll see a “Recommended” filter tailored to how you already work.
A better starting point for new teachers
If you're just getting started, the homepage no longer leaves you on a blank page to figure things out on your own. Clear empty states guide you with direct next steps, like “Browse Resources” or “View Assignments,” so you always know what to do next — and Kira AI Chat is right there to help you create or generate your first resource without leaving the page.
