How can students resolve access issues due to cache or browsing history limitations?
Students may encounter technical issues when accessing their courses, particularly those related to browsing history or cache limitations on their devices. This guide outlines the steps to resolve such problems.
Common Student Access Issues
Clearing Browsing History/Cache on Devices
If a student is prompted with unexpected roles or registration flows when attempting to log in, it is likely due to cached data from a previous session. This issue can be resolved by taking the following steps:
Clear the browsing history and cache on the device in question. This step ensures that the outdated session data is removed.
Repeat this process for every device experiencing the same issue. Each student must clear their browser history/cache individually to resolve the problem on their respective devices.
Alternative Access Method
In cases where students are unable to clear their browsing history or cache due to device restrictions (e.g., managed Chromebooks or school-provided laptops), follow this alternative access method:
Open the Kira Learning platform and access the instructor dashboard.
Use the option to invite students by email.
The invited students will receive a join link in their email inbox. Upon clicking the link, they will be prompted to register as a student and will be automatically added to the class.
These steps ensure that all students can access their assignments and course materials without disruption, regardless of technical obstacles on their devices. Related Tip: It is also advisable to regularly verify device configurations and update browser versions to circumvent potential future issues.
