Logging in and Syncing your Classes to Kira

A step-by-step guide to using Single Sign-On (SSO) and linking your sections to courses in Kira.

Let’s get you into your Kira account! These directions will also help you sync your classes, sections, and students (if relevant) via your LMS, Clever, or Classlink. This way, your class data will automatically sync into Kira.

Step 1: Sign In with Your School

After your school or district has set up integrations with Kira, log in (if you're currently signed in to your account, log out, and then log back in).

Type in your email, then click the "Continue with your school" button.

This will take you to your school's sign-in page.

💡 Please note: If your school doesn’t have a sitewide license, you can also log in to Kira as an individual, free user. Select “Continue with email” or “Continue with Google” in the log in screen above

Log in using your LMS (like Schoology), Clever, or Classlink credentials, and you'll be redirected to Kira's platform.

This will enable syncing of your classes, sections, and students.

Troubleshooting Login Issues

Common Cause: Duplicate Accounts A frequent reason for access issues is the existence of duplicate accounts. This can happen when a student has:

  • One account they access directly using an email and password.

  • Another account they access through their school’s Learning Management System (LMS). If the class is associated with one account but the student logs into the other, the class will not appear on their dashboard.

If you’ve accidentally logged in using Google or email and cannot view your classes or students:

  1. Log out of the incorrect account.

  2. Navigate back to the Kira login page and select the Continue with your school option.

  3. Complete the login using your school SSO credentials. If the issue persists, contact Kira Support for further assistance.

Step 2: View and Select Sections

After signing in, you'll need to link your sections. After you select your sections, you’ll need to assign a course to each.

Step 3: Assign Sections to Courses

Manually assign each section to the desired course. Once you’ve selected the appropriate course for each section, click the "Connect sections to courses" button.

You’ll be redirected back to your Dashboard, where your sections will be updated with the corresponding courses. If you have any unlinked sections, you can access them at any time and link them to your desired course.

Step 4: Preview your Roster

To verify that your roster has been successfully synced from your LMS, Clever, or Classlink, hover your cursor over the newly created section and click on the three stacked dots (also known as the "more options" menu) that appear.

From the drop-down menu, select "Roster." This will display the list of students who have been populated in that section, allowing you to confirm that the sync was successful.
