Differentiate with AI

Kira’s “Differentiate” tools help you personalize learning by scaffolding concepts, adjusting text complexity, and supporting IEPs—all within the Differentiate tab of the AI Tools panel.

1. Study Guide

How it works:

Enter a concept (e.g., “plant and animal adaptations”), and Kira will generate:

  • A vocabulary list

  • Big idea questions

  • Diagram and note-taking prompts

  • Practice problems (multiple choice, short answer)

You can export your guide as a PDF or Word Doc, if you need to print or edit!

2. IEP

Quickly generate IEP-aligned instructional narratives based on your learning goals and accommodations.

How it works:

  • Describe what the student will learn/objectives

  • Select the grade level

  • Choose relevant accommodations (e.g., extended time, frequent breaks, graphic organizers, read-aloud support)

3. Text Rewriter

Reword or simplify text to make it more accessible, without losing content integrity.

Use this tool to:

  • Paraphrase dense language

  • Rewrite for clarity

  • Generate student-friendly alternatives for textbook excerpts, primary sources, or classroom handouts

4. Text Leveler

Adjust the reading level of any passage to match your learners’ needs.

Example:

Original: A dense explanation of the Pythagorean Theorem
Leveled: A simplified version written at a 5th-grade reading level with vocabulary support.

5. Text translator

Translate content into a wide range of languages to support multilingual learners.

Paste in your text, and select a target language—great for family communication, scaffolding lesson materials, or building home support resources.

💡Pro Tip:

You can combine these tools! For example, use the Study Guide Generator and then rewrite or level sections of the output to meet specific needs. Differentiation doesn’t have to be daunting. With Kira, it’s just a few clicks away.
