How to Enable Translations in Kira

Need Kira Learning in another language? Here’s a quick guide to help you set up automatic translations in the Kira platform.

We’re excited to announce full localization support for both our platform and course materials!

What's New?

Kira Learning now supports the following languages:

    • English

    • French

    • Spanish

    • Portuguese

    • Vietnamese

Users can select their preferred language by:

  1. Navigating to Settings

  2. Clicking on "Account"
  3. Choosing from the supported languages

Once selected, all platform content and course materials (for courses in the Course Library) will be automatically translated.

🔔 Note: Translations do not apply to code content in the Code Editor.

Video Subtitles & Transcripts

Multiple language options for subtitles and transcripts are also available in the video settings.

Alternate Option: Translate by Browser

If you're using a language not currently supported or accessing custom course materials, browser-based translation can still be helpful:

Google Chrome

  • Click the three dots in the top-right corner

  • Select Translate

  • Choose your language
Optional: Check “Always translate” to apply it automatically in the future

Firefox

  • Open the desired page

  • Click the Translate icon in the address bar

  • Select your language

Safari (Macs/iPads)

  • Click Translate in the Safari address bar

  • Choose your language
Optional: Adjust your default in System Settings

Microsoft Edge

  • Click the Translate button in the address bar

  • Pick your preferred language

By following these steps, you’ll be able to view Kira Learning’s content in your preferred language. This will make it easier for teachers and students, whether you're supporting ELL students or navigating in a different language.
